«EMAlliance» created Mathematical Simulation Department

A new Department of Mathematical Simulation was created in JSC “EMAlliance”. The Department has become a part of Scientific and technical innovation center of the company.

One of the priority areas of the Department activity will be the implementation of software and hardware system ANSYS which allows to execute high - performance computing of concurrent mode on the supercomputer with 2 Tflops productivity.

The current year the investment program of the new department development will compose 25 million rbl. It is planned to be doubled in 2011 and will be 50 mln.rbl.

The new department has already started solving important problems within the company innovative projects realization. The specialists of the department simulate thermal processes in boilers with CFB, carry out three-dimensional modeling of combustion and heat exchange processes in a coal-pulverized boiler working at ultra supercritical steam parameters and also calculate harmful emissions resulting from design natural gas and diesel oil boilers operation as a part of CCPP - TPS “RN-Tuansinsky ORP” modernization project.

Commenting on the new department establishment JSC “EMAlliance” Vice-President on innovations Boris Firsov stated that the implementation of the state-of-the-art domestic simulation technologies for CAE analyses and advanced cluster equipment for parallel computing when solving complex tasks containing millions calculating elements, will allow to estimate to a high precision working and environmental performance of the designed modern power equipment.

“The most up-to-date calculating systems make possible to apply innovative solutions and technologies in our projects, reduce design time and expenditures connected with actual tests and products development” – he said.
