«EMAlliance» and «TsNIITMASH» are ready to take joint participation

JSC “EMAlliance” and SRC RF JSC NPO "TsNIITMASH” plan to bid jointly for the project “Development of energy efficient steam boilers with circulating fluidized bed (CFB) with power capacity up to 330 MW for supercritical steam parameters”.

The project was included in the "List of major innovative projects of national significance to be started in 2010 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation" approved by Order of the Minister of Industry and Trade № 280 of April 8, 2010.

The Project realization is aimed at development of the basis for steam boilers with CFB furnaces full production for power units at precritical and supercritical steam parameters. Such boilers provide the possibility of low-heating value, high-ash and sulfur - bearing fuels effective combustion as well as the environmental issues solutions for reduction of NOX and sulfur compounds emissions.

It is expected to achieve significant multiplier effect during project implementation through development and use of unified series of power equipment. According to initial estimates it is possible to reach 30% total cost reduction at expense of detailed design, cost cutting and etc.

New technological solutions will reduce the electricity production cost by 10-15% due to increasing of power plants efficiency and greatly expand the ability to use cheaper grades of coal as a fuel base. Payback period of boiler with CFB working on low-grade fuel is 3-5 years.

Project execution is planned in 2010-2012.

Vice-president on innovations of JSC “EMAlliance” Boris Firsov noted that the company jointly with such a large and reputable research center in mechanical engineering field as «TsNIITMASH» were ready to offer the most up-to-date energy-saving and environmentally safe solutions for domestic thermal power industry.

It is a strong basis for the purpose of settling the innovative development problems of domestic economy with the support of State and Scientific community» - he said.
